From Toraño Cigars: "Determining the final blend for Master was a long and experimental journey. With two passionate tobacco experts -- Charlie Toraño and Felipe Sosa -- working side by side, only the very best blend would suffice and ultimately be worthy of the name 'Master.'"
Summarizing all Tasting/Review Sheets:

First Impressions:
The wrappers on all of the cigars looked sensational. Gleaming oils, a rich maroon-chocolate color, and an aroma to die for -- these cigars were leathery supermodels. We did not discern any egregious cosmetic flaws on any of the sticks such as damage, cracking, or flaking.

Additionally, the cigar felt balanced, with filler equal throughout the massive binder & wrapper. No spongy or soft parts of the cigar were noticed. We had people punch, straight cut and V cut the cigars and all pre-light draws were noticeable good.

An impressive cigar.

Burning:
One thing we all noticed was that these cigars, once lit, did not have to be touched up once until near the band. This is rather rare in any cigar let alone one of this girth and length. So there was no "babysitting" needed, which was well received. The cigar held a nice, tight ash for a solid two, three, or four inches. Thick and aromatic the smoke was.

The wrapper held up unsurprisingly well throughout the two, two-and-a-half hour session. There was no cracking or unravelling of the wrapper/cap. The draw remained consistent as did the flavor until a little more than half way through, wherein the cigar took on a peppery note that we all savored. The cigar -- great right from the start -- became more enjoyable as it became a bit stronger as we neared the end. Furthermore, the cigar never burned "hot" or became a nuisance after we removed the bands.

For such a large cigar, it has a ton of flavor yet remains a med bodied cigar, a characteristic that I believe will be well taken. (Often larger cigars can overpower a drink, a meal, or just damn near take your head off.)

Final Thoughts:
Looking back over our notes, Master Colossal is an extraordinary cigar on many levels: appearance, price point, name recognition, flavor profile. Although not for everyone, this titanic 7x70 passed our review supremely well; we were quite surprised given the imposing size. The Colossal will make a welcome addition to an already enjoyable Master line.

Rating: 8 (Excellent) A cigar that we would definitely purchase.
